Located in the heart of the historic village of Caderousse, between Orange and Avignon, this château has witnessed nearly nine centuries of history and still preserves all the charm of its medieval past.

Formerly the residence of the Ancezune family, Lords of Caderousse, the château is believed to have welcomed several French monarchs throughout the centuries.

Carefully restored, the château combines the authenticity of its stone walls, vaulted ceilings, and original wrought-iron features with modern comfort. Staying at Château d’Ancezune offers a unique experience in a place steeped in history, in the heart of Provence, just minutes from Orange, Avignon, and the renowned vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The Kings’ Hall

The highlight of the château is undoubtedly the Kings’ Hall, a majestic 72 m² reception room dominated by an impressive monumental fireplace, considered one of the most remarkable in Provence.

Self check-in is available.

Check-in is from 5:00 PM.

Before your arrival, you will receive all the necessary information regarding access, practical instructions, and recommendations to help you make the most of your stay.

Please let us know your estimated arrival time in advance so we can organize your arrival under the best conditions.

Check-out is before 10:00 AM.

For any request regarding early check-in or late arrival, the request must be made no later than 6:00 PM on the day before arrival. Approval is subject to availability.

A guest guide containing all our recommendations will be available at the property.

Important – Security Deposit

A €2,000 security deposit is required no later than 7 days before arrival.

The deposit is processed securely through Swikly as a credit card pre-authorization:

• No money is charged from your account
• The amount is simply held temporarily as a guarantee

The deposit covers, among other things:

• Damage to the property
• Theft or loss (keys, equipment, or other items)
• Excessive dirtiness or failure to properly care for the accommodation
• Unauthorized use of equipment
• Failure to comply with house rules (pets, occupancy limits, quiet hours, etc.)

This security deposit does not limit the tenant’s liability. Guests may remain responsible for damages exceeding this amount if necessary.

Any damage must be reported within 4 hours of arrival (with photographs) or immediately if it occurs during the stay.

The security deposit hold is automatically released between 8 and 14 days after departure.

The History of the Château

According to local archives, several French monarchs are believed to have stayed here over the centuries, including King Francis I in 1524, King Henry III in 1575, and King Louis XIII in 1622.
